Illumination Movement for Good Governance Purchases Nomination Form for Engr. Femi Olafunmiloye as He Accepts House of Representatives Candidacy

Under pressure from supporters, Engr. Femi Olafunmiloye has agreed to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Ile Oluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo Federal Constituency. He will run on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the upcoming general election.

The nomination form was purchased and presented to him by the Illumination Movement for Good Governance, a support group. The group’s coordinator, Mallam Abdulazeez Kazeem Folohunso, along with other members, handed over the form to Engr. Olafunmiloye in Akure, the Ondo State capital, shortly after obtaining it at the ADC party secretariat.

Speaking on the group’s decision, Coordinator Folohunso said, “The good people of Ile Oluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo Federal Constituency deserve quality representation. Engr. Femi Olafunmiloye is the right man for the job.”

In his response, an overwhelmed Engr. Olafunmiloye expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Illumination Movement for Good Governance. He stated, “Your support means everything to me. The purchase of this nomination form fuels my drive to serve the good people of my constituency as a member of the House of Representatives.”

Who Is Engr. Femi Olafunmiloye?

Engr. Femi Olafunmiloye is a native of Odigbo in Odigbo Local Government Area. He is well educated, both locally and internationally, and has excelled in his chosen career.

He comes from a humble background and is a proud member of the renowned Olafunmiloye family in Odigbo Kingdom. His late father was an educationist who served as a principal in Igbara Oke. A true lover of his community, he used his position to enroll many Odigbo indigenes into his school, providing them with accommodation and meeting their needs. As one of the elites of Odigbo at the time, he leveraged his influence at the Ministry of Education, with the community’s help, to establish Isero Grammar School in 1976.

The late F. O. Olafunmiloye was appointed the pioneer principal of the school. He was gentle, kind, loving, and generous. Under his leadership, Isero Grammar School became one of the best in Ondo State. The community held him in high esteem, and he later contested for a seat in the Ondo State House of Assembly and won. He was subsequently elected Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly.

As an honest man and a patriot, he used his constituency allowance to electrify Odigbo Town, enabling his community to enjoy electricity before some ancient towns in Ondo State. As the Bible says, “Good trees bring good fruits.”

Femi Olafunmiloye is a very kind and loving man. His love for his people cannot be quantified. Though he has had opportunities for greener pastures abroad, he has chosen to stay and invest in Ondo State. He has launched several life-changing programs, including:

· F. O. Olafunmiloye Football Academy

· Employment opportunities

· Organizing lectures and philanthropic activities

· Paying hospital bills for the less privileged
